If you don't already have window tint on the windows in your home, then you should seriously consider having the windows tinted. There are many different types of tint, but if you don't need any particular kind, then you should learn more about solar tint because it can be beneficial in a lot of different ways. It helps insulate, can add privacy, and can also enhance the look of the exterior. If you have just started thinking about having your home's windows tinted, then you likely have quite a few questions. Here are some of the answers to popular questions people tend to ask about residential window tinting

Does solar tint help during the summer and the winter?

While many people think solar tint really only helps during the summer, the truth is that it will also help during the winter. During the summer, it will prevent most of the sunshine from penetrating to heat up the house you are running your air conditioning trying to cool. However, the tint will continue to provide helpful insulation to keep heat in when it's cold outside and you have your heater going.

Can solar tint also provide some privacy?

Since solar tint comes in so many styles, it can double as a privacy tint. If this is something else that you want to get out of the tint, then you can go with one that has reflection properties that makes the windows look more like mirrors from the outside. Or, you can choose darker shades of tint, which most commonly come in shades of brown or gray. You can find black window tint as well, but it tends to be a bit too dark for homes and is better for businesses that require privacy for clients or employees.

Can you see outside through the tint?

Some people are concerned that they won't be able to see outside any better than someone would be able to see inside. However, the window tint from the inside will appear much lighter, so you will still be able to see outside, but things won't look as bright, much like how car window tint works.

Which side of the window does the tint go on?

In most cases, the window tint gets installed on the inside of the windows. This is good because it means you won't have to worry about the tint getting damaged in storms where anything like tree branches or other objects come into contact with the windows.

Does window tint fade since it always has the sun shining on it?

Since the sun coming in can fade things like the flooring or furniture, some people are concerned about the sun also causing the tint to fade. However, window tint tends to last years, and it is resistant to fading during those years, so it will continue to do its job.
